Spring can have amazing, rejuvenating power, if you let it!!
If you don’t think that there is a “recharge” for your mental “batteries” in the Spring Air, you are mistaken.
If you are a doubter or you need a “boost”, try this:
On your lunch hour or break from work, sometime during the day, take a brisk 5 or 10 minute walk outside in the fresh air. I think you will receive the “boost” you need.
It is amazing how it clears your head, opens your lungs & stimulates those “feel good” hormones in us!! I try to take my walk just before the mid-afternoon slump. I am a night person, so mid-afternoon gets a bit “sleepy-time” for me!! LOL!! The spring air wakes me up, & gives me that boost of energy I need to finish the day & whatever project I am working on. My Grandmother used to call it “getting your second wind”!!
(The pic above is where I walk on my farm, around the pond, which is on the right just out of view!!)
When I was living in Florida, I worked at a hospital that really promoted Employee wellness & provided alot of perks for us like a gym, vegetarian meals, wellness checkups, etc. They built a walking track on the big front acreage for the employees to use during their lunch hour. It was exactly a mile around & the terrain was varied so it was a good workout. This was back in the late 1980’s, so the hospital was ahead of its time in promoting Employee Health Awareness.
When you get up from whatever you are doing & take a short walk, especially in the fresh air & sunshine, it allows your brain & eyes to “reset”. It is like rebooting your brain. You will find you are more alert & productive when you return to your work.
