“What do I do now??” This question is important in order to set your intentions, be mindful, & be successful in this CHANGE!!
The WHAT we are discussing today is not the “what now”. It is the WHAT of the change. We will get to the “what next” or “what do I do now”…..SOON!!
If you are overwhelmed, stressed to the max, ready to quit because of what life is throwing at you, you are in the right place. In order to make a change from chaos to sanity & success, we must sort things out & answer a few questions, so put on your thinking caps. Mindfulness is key!!
You know those Journal pages I gave you in the last blog?? It is time to pull them out & do some more thinking & journaling.
Use these questions as prompts for your journaling about the upcoming change:
- WHAT does this change mean to me??
- What worked well for me or my business, in the past, when I had to go through a change??
- What did NOT work well??
- What can I let go of??
- What am I procrastinating about??
- What would make me feel “successful” & magnificent about myself/my business by the end of the year??
- What could go wrong??
- What could go right??
- What could get in the way??
- What new skills & knowledge do I need??
WOW!! That is a lot of “WHAT”s!! If we don’t do the work, we won’t be successful. Tony Robbins says, “You experience what you focus on.” I have found this to be VERY true.
If we want a certain outcome, we have to focus on that outcome & do the actionable steps needed to reach that outcome. By focusing on the outcome, we are better able to identify what needs to be done & how to do it.
When I am faced with a CHANGE, I ask myself, “What should I do??” THEN I ask myself, “What will make the biggest difference??” Finally I ask myself, “What do I need to FOCUS on??”
Those three questions get me started with the change process. You see, I no longer fight the CHANGE when it appears in my life. CHANGE is inevitable, so fighting it is energy consuming, wasteful, & is POINTLESS!!
What do the Borg say on Star Trek……”Resistance is futile”!!
I had a particularly difficult change I had to go through when my husband died. I actually made several signs that said, “Resistance is futile!!” & put them around the house to remind me that no matter how hard I tried to avoid it, the change had to happen!!
As we work through this process, knowing all the Who, What, When, Where, & Why of this CHANGE will get us focused on SUCCESS & how we go from Chaos to Sanity & Success!!
In my signature program, “From Chaos to Sanity & Success”, we delve even deeper into the 5 W’s. As with any new project or change, we must do the preliminary groundwork in order to be successful!!
If you missed the first 2 parts of this Series, you can find them here:
Part One – “Are You Prepared for the Inevitable….CHANGE??”
Part Two – “The WHO of ‘Are You Prepared for the Inevitable….CHANGE???'”
